The Furst State is proud to announce Camp Furst State 8  (2026), to be held at Cape Henlopen State Park on the Delaware seashore. Camping will run from 2 PM on Friday October 2nd , 2026 through 12 PM on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.

Before registering for this event, you must review our Code of Conduct.

Registration for Camp Furst State requires a valid government issued ID (license, state ID, or passport). You must be 18 or older to attend.

Registration will be available until September 27th, 2026. There will be no on-site registration or day passes for 2026.

Things to Do and Things to Bring

Cape Henlopen State Park is the northern-most Delaware beach, located at the point where the ocean meets the bay.  It is also the site of Fort Miles, one of a chain of coastal defense fortifications last used in WWII.  

Beyond the beach, the park is crisscrossed by trails that wind through dunes, between former bunkers, and across salt marshes. Gordons Pond Trail, part trail and part boardwalk, allows direct access to nearby Rehoboth Beach.

If you can, bring a bike!  The entire park and nearby towns of Lewes and Rehoboth are extremely bike friendly.  The state park even offers free (!) complimentary two hour bike rentals.

The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is just a little over a mile walk from the campground; you can buy a round-trip ticket as a walk-on for $20 and take a 3 hour cruise (and enjoy the outdoor bar on the upper deck). If you are feeling really adventurous, bikes ride for free and the Cape May promenade is just a half-hour bike ride from the ferry terminal ;).

***Things to Bring***

Cape Henlopen has smaller campsites, and due to popularity, can get very full.  TFS can only  supply (1) six person tent this year for those who have no other option.  Campers are encouraged to bunk up and share space when they can!  If you absolutely need to use the shared bunk tent, or want a recommendation for a good affordable tent, DM Skratch_Coyote on Telegram directly.

With that said, make sure you have or coordinate access to the following: 

1. Tent  (please, no hammocks - all the extra ropes create trip hazards in the night).

2. Sleeping bag/bed roll.

3. Sleeping pad.

4. Warm AND cool weather clothing (its the shoulder season, so temps could be anywhere from the high 40's to the 80s).  Keep a dry set of clothes in your car or drybag (even a plastic trashbag works) just in case.

5.  Snacks and provisions for lunch time meals, or any other special food or medication.

6. A way to charge your devices - the sites are not wired for electricity.

7. Shower sandals, a towel, and toiletries for the bathhouse.

8. Any games or other (nondestructive) fun stuff you can think of.

After you register, you will be added to the group telegram chat for Camp Furst State.  Its a  good place to coordinate events, ride shares, and stuff to bring.

Other than breakfast and dinner meal times, the days are pretty unstructured.  If you have a cool idea for a group event, post it in the chat.  We would be happy to help make it happen

***Furry Stuff***

It should go without saying that should all strive to be good neighbors to our fellow (normie) campers, who are likely to be families with kids looking to have an equally chill weekend.  Keep in mind that the campground, like the rest of the park, is exceptionally sandy and probably not ideal for any kind of extensive suiting.  As with most things in life, its best to do a general vibe check before we do any major suiting-related activities.

Event Membership

All memberships include: entry to Camp Furst State during event hours, a wristband, and basic meals (light breakfast and cookout-style dinner). Please be aware the wristband must be worn at all times during the event.

Arrival time for attendees is 2:00 PM (Friday) and check-out is 12:00 PM (Sunday).

Please review the campground rules. In addition to event admission, the state park charges for overflow parking ($10 daily for in-state and $20 daily for out of state vehicles). The first four spaces (at the campsite) are free and are reserved for CFS staff and those with mobility needs.

Firewood, cookware, and basic provisions (ice, burgers/hotdogs/buns, eggs, etc) and condiments will be provided, however, attendees should plan for providing their own lunch and snack(s). Attendees with specific dietary needs are encouraged to bring their own food. Please do not bring your own firewood!

Campground alcohol policy: Alcohol is allowed on the campground in bottles or cans for adults 21 and over; however, alcohol is not permitted near the bathhouses/pond and public intoxication/rowdy behavior is prohibited.

IMPORTANT: Parking Notice

TFS will get four (4) free parking passes (one per site) that are reserved for staff and those with mobility needs.  All others will need to pay the entry fee ($10 for Delaware vehicles and $20 for out-of-state vehicles).  Unlike Lums Pond, they do enforce!  Please request a "campground visitors pass" at entry and you will be directed to the overflow lot.  Visitors passes do not have in/out privileges so if you do head out, you will have to pay to get back in.

So you want to come to Camp Furst State? Awesome! We ask that everyone who attends Furst State events follow these rules, for the enjoyment of all who attend:

Public Behavior
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at our events. If you have been the target of harassment, we urge you to report the incident immediately to a member of staff or a park ranger. The sooner an issue is reported to us, the more appropriately we can address it.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
(a) Physical assault, battery, stalking, or unwelcome physical attentions.
(b) Conduct, dress, or speech that targets, threatens, intimidates, or is otherwise intended to cause distress to other attendees, or members of protected classes (such as those based on race, age, religion, national origin, disability, gender, or sexual identity).

While at the event you are expected to remain and act in a civil manner. Rough housing, overly affectionate public displays of affection, and destructive behavior are prohibited. Harassment, stalking, or unwanted contact will be met with a "one-strike" or zero-tolerance policy, "No" means "No" always. Remember: "A costume does not imply consent." Please be courteous to other attendees, vendor staff, and non-furmeet guests at all times.
Also remember that we are in a public setting. These events are family friendly affairs and oftentimes this is people's first exposure to furry at large. Remember that we need to present "those people who dress up like animals" in as positive a light as possible. We're the ambassadors of the furry fandom for the people we encounter.

Hygiene
It is assumed that you will posses a good sense of hygiene while at this event. If you are bearing a noticeable offensive odor, you will be asked to rectify it or possibly be removed from the event. It is encouraged that attendees take a shower before coming to meets. Fursuiters will be given a little bit of lee-way when it comes to this rule after de-suiting based on staff judgment.

Alcohol
Alcoholic consumption should be kept within moderation and may only be consumed by adults over 21. Buying alcohol for minors is strictly forbidden by Furst State rules and Delaware State Law. If you are found out to be supplying alcohol to a minor we will be obligated to contact the police. If you are approached by a minor to acquire alcohol for them then say "No" and report it to security.
If someone becomes too intoxicated they will be asked to leave the event prematurely and be issued a warning.

Weapons
No actual weapons or any item that can be easily mistaken for one may be carried either openly or concealed at any time in our event spaces, regardless of any government permits which you may possess. Exceptions may be made only for duly appointed law enforcement officers. Personal pocket knives with single-edged blades less than 4 inches long are permitted. If it is found out you are concealing a weapon you will be restricted from the all future Furst State events.

Pet Policy
Pets are not permitted in event space. Service dogs (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA, Title II) are permitted in all event spaces accessible to members provided that they are under appropriate control. Emotional Support Animals and Therapy Animals are NOT considered service dogs by the ADA, and are not permitted in event spaces.

Dress Code
Tails, ears, collars, and other furry accessories are allowed at the event, unless otherwise specified. The only exception to this are leashes which will be asked to be removed if seen. No extremely revealing clothing will be permitted at this event and if you have such clothing on you will be asked to remove it and change into something more appropriate.

Sales of Goods & Services
No sale of goods at this event is allowed.

Release of Liability for Personal Injury
Furst State Foundation will not be responsible for any personal injury due to neglect of event venue or these rules, or due to rough-housing during events.
In addition, any costumers must relieve the venue of any responsibility when it comes to personal injury relating to or dealing with costumes and/or masks.

Release of Liability for Personal Belongings
All event attendees will take responsibility for their own belongings. Neither the Furst State Foundation or the event venue will be held responsible for missing or damaged items.
